Am I Old?

I didn't set out to make brooding monologues. I had even planned to avoid first-person pronouns altogether. So I was annoyed when  "Am I Old?" and "The Kids" arrived: clearly human, definitely egocentric. But they felt right! Gradually other tunes surfaced and I accepted that I was making  soliloquies. I  named the collection "Am I Old?" and decorated it with a single person toppling over. It's my rawest album so far and my best try to get  deep.

"Am I Old?" was built between 2009 and 2013, recorded mostly by myself in San Francisco and Oakland. My hands and mouth are responsible for all that you hear besides contributions by the humans listed below. The core of "The Truth (Really?) Every Time" was recorded by Jay William Henderson in Salt Lake City and the string quartet was tracked by Scott Mcdowell at Hyde Studios C in San Francisco. Eric BroyhillI mastered it. I wish to give special thanks to Michael Sempert for being my heart coach/friend as I struggled to wrap this up.
